- Per capita spending for educ in 2005 was only P975. In 1998 it was P1,337. What sort of educ can you get for that cost?
- In 2006 approx 70% of Filipino schoolchildren finish grade 6. Dropout rate increased from 5.75% in 2001 to 7.36%.
- LGBT population is pegged at approx 9M. They comprise over 4M registered voters. But they have few rights & suffer prejudice (Ang Ladlad)
- According to Ibon Foundation, in 2009, 64-81% of the 39.4M labor force were jobless or underemployed. What can you do?
- Unemployment rates (since 1956): 1956-1960 - 8%; 1961-1970 - 7.3%; 1971-1980 - 5.4%; 1981-1990 - 10.2%; 1991-2000 - 9.8%.
- According to Ibon Foundation, the average unemployment rate for 2001-2009 was 11.2%, the highest in the last six decades.
